Art classes are back in The Hatch Bar Gallery, Hazelhatch this October! Now that they are about to return you can pick up your pencils and brushes and think about getting creative again!

Drawing with charcoal.

If you have attended classes in the past, then you will be familiar with the relaxed environment in the class – with time for chat and tea/coffee – mixed in with a little work and lots of learning. Starting in October, the sessions will once again involve classic training in drawing and painting – but I also plan to explore some new techniques during the classes.

Tuition in Art Techniques

If you’re interested in learning the core techniques in art, then you’re in the right place! With small class sizes (maximum of 5 people per session), you are guaranteed to have plenty of personal attention and instruction during each lesson.

All levels of artistic abilities are catered for – so whether you’re new to art or are more experienced, you will find your place in our group.

Tuition is given in:

  • Drawing – with pencil, charcoal & ink
  • Watercolour painting
  • Oil painting

During the course of the classes, you can also gain the opportunity to explore:

  • Woodcut and Linocut printing
  • Tempera painting techniques

The subjects are varied, including:

  • Still-life
  • Animal studies
  • Nudes
  • Landscapes

If you are interested in exploring techniques and subjects not listed here, then please enquire as the list is not exclusive.

The classes will be on-going from 10th October 2017 through to the end of April 2018, which means that you can attend whenever it suits you best and practice whichever technique you wish to develop. The sessions are scheduled as follows:
